The ideal storage environment for a spring mattress is a dry, well-ventilated space. Avoid placing it in damp basements, under windows, or near water pipes to prevent moisture damage or mold. The ideal storage environment is a space with moderate room temperature and good air circulation; open windows periodically to maintain humidity levels between 40% and 60%. Additionally, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent aging or discoloration of the fabric and comfort layer materials.

The mattress should ideally be laid flat on a sturdy, flat surface, such as a wooden board or bed frame, to prevent localized pressure and deformation. If storage space is limited, the mattress can be stood upright, but avoid prolonged contact with a wall and maintain a slight tilt to reduce long-term pressure. When standing upright, secure it with ropes or a safety brace to prevent it from tipping over or damaging the springs. Whether lying flat or upright, do not place heavy objects, such as boxes or furniture, on top of the mattress to avoid damaging the springs or comfort layer.

Before storing the mattress, cover it with a dust bag or thick cotton cloth to prevent dust, insects, and moisture from entering. If the mattress is thick and heavy, you can first turn it upright for a few minutes to ensure the springs are not under prolonged pressure before laying it flat. During storage, it is recommended to check the mattress every 2-3 months to ensure there is no dampness, odor, or mold. If you find minor stains or moisture, wipe them with a dry cloth and let them air dry in a well-ventilated area to ensure the mattress is always kept dry and clean.
