Rotate regularly. Spring mattresses should be rotated head-to-toe and top-to-bottom every 3 to 6 months to ensure even pressure on the springs.
Keep it clean. Regularly vacuum the mattress, and use cleaning tools such as a mite remover to maintain hygiene. Pay attention to moisture control to prevent the springs from rusting. If the mattress gets stained, blot the moisture with tissue paper or a cloth; do not wash it with water or detergent. It's best to use sheets or mattress protectors, and avoid lying on it immediately after showering or when sweaty. Do not use electrical appliances or smoke in bed.
Avoid sitting on the edge of the bed frequently, as the four corners of the mattress are the most vulnerable. Sitting or lying on the edge for extended periods can damage the edge springs.
Avoid jumping on the bed to avoid excessive pressure on a single point, which can damage the springs.
Spring mattresses have a limited lifespan; it's generally best to replace them after 8 years.
