Hotel Premier Mattress

Hotel Premier Mattress

You'll see many factories advertise "2.0mm pocket springs". We used to, too. But after three years of testing in actual hotels, we found 2.0mm springs softened too fast under regular turnover. So we switched to 2.2mm. It's a small difference – you can't feel it by hand. But in a bed that gets slept on 300 nights a year, the thicker wire holds its shape for twice as long.

Opening: The phone call that didn't ask for a discount

In 2019, a hotel owner from Hangzhou called us. He wasn't asking for a lower price. He was asking: "Why do my guests still complain about back pain after I spent ¥5000 per bed?"

We told him the truth: most hotel mattresses look thick but use cheap foam that sags within six months. He invited us to his hotel. We cut open one of his "premium" beds. Inside: mixed recycled foam and rusty springs.

He said: "Can you make me something that lasts three years without complaints?"

That's when we started working on what we now call our hotel premier mattress. Not for a product catalog. For one angry hotel owner who just wanted guests to sleep well.

The springs: why we don't use "2.0mm" anymore (we use 2.2mm)

You'll see many factories advertise "2.0mm pocket springs". We used to, too. But after three years of testing in actual hotels, we found 2.0mm springs softened too fast under regular turnover. So we switched to 2.2mm. It's a small difference – you can't feel it by hand. But in a bed that gets slept on 300 nights a year, the thicker wire holds its shape for twice as long.

Each spring is wrapped in its own fabric pocket. They don't touch each other. That means when your partner tosses – or gets up for a 6am flight – you won't feel a thing. We don't have a "90% better" number because we never tested against open coil. But we did test this: I (Lao Li, our spring guy) jumped on one side while a coffee cup sat on the other. The coffee didn't spill. That's good enough for us.

The product uses these 2.2mm pocket springs as the base. No cheap filler layer on top. Just the springs, then a thin insulator pad, then the comfort layers.

The comfort layers: latex + foam, but no magic numbers

On top of the springs, we put 3cm of natural latex (92% purity – same as our home mattress) and 2cm of high-resilience foam. Why both? Latex gives a gentle hug – it molds to your shoulder and hip. Foam gives bounce – it pushes back so you don't feel stuck.

We tried using latex alone. Too soft for hotel use – guests would complain about sinking. We tried foam alone. Too bouncy – motion transfer came back. The combination works. No test reports to show you, because we don't have a lab. But we have 14 hotels using this bed for over two years. Only one complaint so far (a guest said it was "too firm" – we can't please everyone).

The fabric on top is fire-resistant knitted cloth (required by law in many countries). We do not use silver ion antibacterial treatment. We tried it in 2020. A guest with sensitive skin got a rash. We removed it. Now we simply wash the fabric twice in hot water before sewing. It's clean, soft, and won't irritate. We don't claim it kills bacteria. We claim it doesn't need to.

What we actually deliver to hotels

We ship this hotel premier mattress flat – not rolled. Why? Rolling compresses the latex and can bend the pocket springs permanently. We learned that the hard way after our first rolled shipment to a hotel in Suzhou. Five mattresses arrived with soft spots. We replaced them all and never rolled again.

Flat shipping costs more. But the mattress arrives ready to use. No waiting for it to expand.

Warranty: 15 years against sagging deeper than 2cm. That's measured from the top surface. We don't cover fabric stains or burn marks. If a spring breaks (hasn't happened yet on any hotel mattress we've made since 2018), we replace the whole mattress.

Custom options for hotels: size (any width/length), firmness (soft/medium/firm), and logo embroidery on the head end. Minimum order for custom logo is 20 pieces. No minimum for size changes – we cut the foam and springs to order.

After-sales: one person handles your account. That person is usually Xiao Zhou. He worked in a hotel for three years before joining us. He knows what housekeepers hate (mattresses that are too heavy to flip) and what guests complain about (squeaky springs). He'll answer your email within 24 hours. Not a chatbot.

The hotel owner from Hangzhou – what happened next

He bought 60 of our hotel premier mattress in early 2020. We were nervous – that was our biggest order. Three years later, he ordered 120 more. He said: "My online reviews about sleep quality went from 3.2 to 4.5. And I haven't replaced a single mattress."

That's not a statistic. That's just one hotel owner who stopped being angry.
